Yep, comment to win a whole yard of fabulous Kaffe Fassett’s “Paperweight” fabric! In celebration of my 100th post (thought I’d really only make it to 5!), I want to share with one lucky person a whole yard of this beautiful fabric….

It was screaming at me through the window of my local fabric shop earlier this week. I selfishly bought the whole thing for me and then decided I would give the whole thing to you, or at least one of you! I’ll go back and buy another yard for me next week because I can’t stand to be without this unbelievable orange in my life!
And if you are a selvage hoarder, like me, you’ll appreciate a few of these great edges. Don’t get that one? Check out one of my favorite websites that only deals with selvages!
My job today is to get these lovely tomatoes in the ground so I can leave tomorrow and fish all weekend long! Your job today is to answer this question…..
WHAT ARE YOU DOING FOR FUN THIS WEEKEND?
I’ll take comments through Sunday night and pick a winner Monday morning. Until then…….
GONE FISHIN!!
Make A Tractor Disc Planter!
Live in the country? Do you or someone you know have lots of those rusty discs laying around the farm? I borrowed this one from my dad’s junk pile last year and recently created a sedum planter.
It sits on some other kinda piece from the tractor that I’m calling my planter stand.
Try that when you’re looking for a free planting container/garden art!
Believe it or not this is my 99th post! So, in honor of my 100th post later this week and whenever I can get to the next post, I’m giving away a full yard of Kaffe Fassett fabric. Maybe only my internet quilter friends will be giddy about this one. I wish I could give away a dozen duck eggs to my duck followers, but I’m not so sure how to send those in the mail! So make sure to check back later this week if you love fabric cuz this one is fabulous!!
Duck Lays Egg On Table!
I have a nagging morning ritual. I first must open the bedroom blinds to do the morning duck head count. I can usually see them all hoovering the yard. If there are only two, then the straggler is usually sitting on her usual nest. WELL, this morning there was no sign of number three. AND, when I looked out, there was a cat roaming in the back of the yard. This makes me nervous!!
I raced out barefooted (which is not a good idea in my poopy yard) and chased the cat away. The other two girls were standing perfectly still with extended necks looking toward the corner of the yard. There sat HOOVER GIRL #3, sitting atop my garden table, laying an egg!
OH, and by the way, my ducks don’t fly. Crazy DUCK!!!
PS. Quilters–I’ve got a giveaway treat coming later this week!
A Peek In The Garden Tonight…..
Last night I picked the first lettuce and spinach from my garden, woo hoo!!

Isn’t it beautiful?!! I put this bit of lettuce in a planter on my deck. It’s SO easy to pick right outside the door, especially on a rainy day.
I try to plant as many things from seed as possible. I’ve got flowers going in this tray. See those teeny tiny geraniums? Believe it or not they will grow into large flowers quickly because I use the hell outta Miracle Gro ;-) Love that stuff for immediate gratification!
The ducks have a favorite nest right now in the midst of my hollyhocks. I don’t mind them in the large, established flowers unless they start to “drill” and dig up everything in their path!
And what’s a garden without Irises? I hope your garden is growing!
